Student Temporary Employment Program Opportunities

Denali National Park & Preserve frequently hires students to fill temporary positions in various occupational fields. This includes high school and college (both undergraduate and graduate) students. For these types of appointments, we use the Student Temporary Employment Program step hiring authority, which is a noncompetitive hiring authority. Students may be considered for some of the current temporary job opportunities listed under Current Job Openings or Local Hire Job Openings through the STEP authority, in addition to those applying and being considered through the application procedures stated in the vacancy announcements.

If you wish to be considered for temporary work with Denali National Park & Preserve through the Student Temporary Employment Program, you must submit the following items:

  • A current application or resume
  • Your up-to-date college transcript (an unofficial transcript is acceptable)
  • A letter from your school stating that you are currently a student in good standing and that you are expected to return to school in the fall
  • A cover letter specifying your interest in the Student Temporary Employment Program and stating the type(s) of job(s) for which you wish to be considered.

Your application package should be mailed to:

Human Resource Office
Denali National Park & Preserve
P.O. Box 126
Denali Park, AK 99755

Faxed or e-mailed applications will NOT be accepted.
