Beverly Heinze-Lacey, Friends of Parker River NWR, has taken on the responsibility of updating the Taking Flight booklet, a handbook used by groups interested in establishing Friends groups.  The booklet contains success stories and challenges other groups have encountered. 

Heinze-Lacey was told by several members of Friends and Mentors that Squaw Creek would be a great example to include in the booklet. 

Refuge Manager Ronald Bell and Friends of Squaw Creek President Tommie Rogers were interviewed May 18 for the handbook.
