Denali 2006 Bus and Campground Reservations Available in December

Doyon/ARAMARK Joint Venture, the transportation concessioner for Denali National Park and Preserve, will begin accepting advance reservations for the 2006 visitor season for shuttle buses and the park’s four largest campgrounds: Riley Creek, Savage River, Teklanika, and Wonder Lake on Thursday, December 1, 2005. Reservations will be available online, by mail and fax at that time. Phone reservations will begin on February 15, 2006.

The Teklanika Campground is open to hard-sided camping only (no tents), and there is no RV camping at Wonder Lake. Beginning December 1, approximately 65% of the shuttle bus seats and 100% of the campsites in the above campgrounds can be reserved in advance. The remaining tickets are made available for advance reservations or walk-in two days before the travel date.

The shuttle buses are designed to provide transportation along the park road for visitors who wish to view the park’s scenery and wildlife, access campgrounds, go hiking for the day or take an overnight trip into the park’s backcountry. Drivers will answer questions and help visitors spot wildlife. The shuttle bus system will operate May 20 through September 14, 2006, weather permitting.

Camping fees and shuttle bus rates for the 2006 season will be finalized by December 1.

A maximum of eight seats may be requested with each reservation, and individual names and ages are required as age discounts may apply. Please include alternate dates and times when possible. When making reservations by credit card, include the credit card number and expiration date. Checks are only accepted with mail-in reservation requests.

The online web address is www.reservedenali.com . The fax forms for advance reservations are posted on the National Park Service website: www.nps.gov/dena . Faxes should be sent to Doyon/ARAMARK Joint Venture at (907) 264-4684. Faxes must be received no less than two days before travel.
