The Fish and Wildlife Service has scheduled eleven public scoping meetings to be held for an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) on a proposed land exchange between Doyon Limited and the Yukon Flats National Wildlife Refuge.

 

Public scoping meetings in several rural communities in Alaska will be scheduled in February and March.  In addition we invite the public to the following open houses:

 

Fairbanks, April 3, 2006, at the Noel Wien Library (open house 3:00 – 8:00 pm)

After the draft environmental impact statement has been prepared it will be available for viewing and downloading at http:alaska.fws.gov/nwr/yukonflats/current.htm.  The Fish and Wildlife Service will hold an additional round of public meetings to solicit input on the draft EIS.
