A PARTIAL LIST OF VOLUNTEER NEEDS
AT TUMACÁCORI NATIONAL HISTORICAL PARK
The list below indicates some of the areas in which volunteer help is needed at Tumacácori. Supervision and/or training is provided for all positions. Some volunteer positions are regular, ongoing positions; others are seasonal or for special projects.
♥ Docent — lead tours, develop programs for visitors
♥ Assist at Visitor Center Information Desk, including sale of books
and other materials
♥ General landscaping (tree trimming, raking, clearing land, etc.)
♥ Garden work (weeding, trimming, etc.)
♥ Small engine maintenance (weed-eaters, mowers, etc.)
♥ Litter pickup
♥ Computer data entry
♥ Trails maintenance — cleaning/dusting exhibits and trail signs
♥ Carpentry (routing signs, finishing benches, etc.)
♥ Plastering
♥ Painting
♥ Videotaping
♥ Lube work on equipment (mixers, tractors, etc.)
♥ Translate / transcribe old Spanish documents
♥ Translate brochures / site bulletins into Spanish, German, or French
♥ General repair work
♥ Miscellaneous organizational and clerical work for Interpretive
Division (filing photos/slides, photocopying, annual guest register
census, updating clipping file, scrapbook, etc.)
♥ Develop posters / exhibits for public areas
♥ Historical research on selected topics
