Education and background for employment

The FCR Unit's current research focuses on biology and biochemistry. Typical areas of specialization include microbiology, molecular biology, cell biology, protein chemistry, and immunochemistry. Research Scientists have a PhD in one of these fields. Technicians have master or bachelor level college diplomas. We also employ full-time and part-time animal handlers and clerical staff. And we often hire students, especially for part-time work, summer jobs, and internships. Like all US Federal agencies, we are an Equal Opportunity employer, and citizenship requirements apply.

Posted job opportunities generally include requirements for specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs). These are directly related to the duties and responsibilities of the respective job. Applicants should pay close attention to these factors, and applications should directly support personal qualifications relating to each factor. Also please clearly indicate citizenship status on job applications.
