Jackson Hole Airport DEIS Soundscape Data
The following 10 Adobe PDF files contain the results from the Jackson Hole Airport Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) acoustic computer modeling (INM 6.2a). See the linked DEIS document for more details.

Each file contains a list of 659 points (see map in the DEIS page 79, Fig. 4).

The computer modeling was conducted for each of two alternatives plus current conditions based on aircraft operations during 2005. The modeling was conducted for both annual conditions (average daily aircraft operations) and peak season (average daily aircraft operations during the months of July-September).

The files contain seven columns and 659 points.

Column 1       Grid point ID.

Column 2       Distance from the Jackson HoleAirport in miles.

Column 3       Management zone based on the 1976 Grand Teton General Management Plan, or outside the park within a ten mile radius of the airport.

Column 4       The percent time during the 15-hour period (7AM – 10PM) Jackson HoleAirport aircraft would be audible. This metric was only calculated for those points within the park.

Column 5       The maximum sound level calculated from aircraft at each point.

Column 6       The total time (in minutes) that the sound level of aircraft were calculated to be above 60 dBA for each point.

Column 7       The 15-hour day-night sound level calculated for each point. This DNL is equivalent to a 15 hour sound level equivalent (Leq).

Beaver Dick Leigh and his family.

Did You Know?
Did you know that Jenny and Leigh Lakes are named for the fur trapper “Beaver” Dick Leigh and his wife Jenny (not pictured)? Beaver Dick and Jenny assisted the Hayden party that explored the region in 1872. This couple impressed the explorers to the extent that they named the lakes in their honor.
