The mission of the Civil Engineer and Services School is to develop and deliver civil engineer, environmental, and services professional continuing education; and provide consultation in support of U.S. air and space forces. |
Satellite Students - Important Information if you wish to apply for a Civil Engineer and Services (CESS) satellite course to be broadcast to your base:
1. Apply on-line at the "courses" section on the left hand side of this page. Select the appropriate section. Then select the course you are interested in attending. You can then select the date of the course you wish to apply. If it is within the next 90 days and before the closeout date, an application will pop up for you to complete. If it is not within the next 90 days, you will be asked if you want an e-mail reminder sent to you when enrollment opens. Each course will have a primary and secondary audience listed. The audiences listed are the job descriptions for which each course is tailored. Ensure that your application indicates that you perform the duty of either the primary or secondary audience. Your supervisor will also need to approve your application.
2. Consider volunteering to facilitate the course. Satellite courses must have a facilitator from each site. If you are willing to be a facilitator, please contact the Education Center at your base to reserve a satellite classroom and indicate you would facilitate. (Must be completed NLT 25 days prior to class start or the course cannot be broadcast to your location.) General responsibilities of facilitators include taking attendance, ensuring students have access to course materials, and policing the satellite classroom. Facilitators will be sent a confirmation e-mail with instructions by the course manager.
3. If you do not wish to volunteer, you will be registered for the course only if someone else has agreed to be a facilitator. Before the closeout date, CESS will send a final notice if no one has volunteered.
4. If no one from your site agrees to facilitate, you will not be registered and the course will not be broadcast to your site.
If you have any questions about this, please contact CESS at DSN 785-2156 or Comm: (937) 255-2156.
