The park has an active Junior Ranger program, with activity booklets (new in 2008!) for ages 5-7, 8-10, and 11+. Junior Ranger candidates must see the park film, tour the historic home, and conduct several activities from their booklet to earn their very own Junior Ranger badge and certificate.

Did You Know?
When Ulysses Grant asked Julia Dent's father for permission to marry her, Ulysses was instead offered her younger sister, Ellen. Ulysses and Julia were married on August 22, 1848.
