Taipei International Book Fair

Taiwan is a growing market for U.S. publishers, with a high demand for U.S. content and titles. Taiwan also serves as a gateway to the Chinese publishing market, and is a key market for expanding further into the region.

In February 2009, the U.S. Commercial Service's American Institute of Taiwan (AIT) offered its first ever U.S. Pavilion at the Taipei Book Fair, the region's largest international book fair. Over 300 U.S. publishers took advantage of the opportunity to display their titles in our U.S. Pavilion for no cost, exposing their books to over 400,000 visitors and 650 exhibitors.

Participating publishers received: Internet promotion on AIT/U.S. Commercial Service website (www.buyusa.gov/taiwan/en); Media exposure for U.S. participants joining the U.S. pavilion; Promotional booklets marketing U.S. publishers and their hit titles; Help match titles to interested Taiwan publishers AND Display of sample books at AIT/Commercial Section library after the fair for six months.

This is one of the many programs that the U.S. Commercial Service offers to small and medium-sized publishers to help promote their titles and find publishing partners overseas. Check back often to learn more about our upcoming activities.
