NGOs and Law Enforcement Combat Human Trafficking in Krasnodar

In February 2005, a local NGO partner in USAID’s Trafficking Prevention and Information Dissemination program organized a training for law enforcement agencies in Krasnodar and the Republic of Adygeya. The session emphasized the organizational and legal aspects of anti-trafficking activities. Representatives from 19 different law enforcement agencies analyzed the problem of human trafficking, its causes, and the details of several trafficking cases brought to court in Russia. The organizers and the regional law enforcement agencies plan further cooperation to raise awareness and enforce anti-trafficking laws.
