First Inter-Russian Special-Olympics Equestrian Championship Held in Moscow
The First All-Russia Equestrian Competition (Spartakiada) of Disabled Children and Children with Limited Abilities “Republic of Sport” was held November 20-24 in Moscow. Thirty-two children from five regions took part. Based on the results of the competition, a Special Olympics of Russia (SOR) team was formed; this team will compete in the European championships to be held in Austria in June of next year. SOR is a sub-grantee of Special Olympics, Inc. (SOI), a USAID implementer. In addition to USAID, McDonalds and a Russian bank co-sponsored the event.
