Community Development Expands in Azerbaijan

On March 27-28, CHF held three large scale outreach meetings in two Southern (Yardymly, Lerik) and in one Northern (Balaken) border districts of Azerbaijan under the auspices of USAID’s Community Development Activity. Representatives from all villages and city districts–including an active community member, the Municipal chief, and the Executive Committee representative—were each invited. The purpose of these meetings was to introduce the Community Development Activity and encourage the remote, mountain communities to take first step towards working with the program. These meetings are also intended to help to generate a potential pool of 18 communities which will be added to the USAID’s project roster this year.
