Important News!!
Registry Regulations Adopted at June 20, 2008 Board of
Health Meeting |
On June 20,
2008 in Las Vegas, the State Immunization Program
proposed amendments to Nevada Administrative Code (NAC)
439. The amendments were adopted by the State Board of
Health with an errata (addition) that qualifies the
required data elements. The data elements in the
regulations remain the same but with the added phrase
"if available." This assists those providers who may
not have access to all required demographic or inventory
information. The statute and regulations require that
all immunization providers report to the registry
information about administered vaccinations beginning
July 1, 2009. The regulations can be downloaded by
clicking on the link below.

Mission Statement |
The major objectives of the
Immunization Program are to work with state and county
health agencies and the private medical community to
promote immunizations among infants, children and
adults; to respond to vaccine preventable disease
outbreaks; to develop and promote maternal and adult
immunization education programs; to develop and enforce
state immunization and vaccine preventable disease
regulations and laws; to provide immunization education
to health care professionals and consumers; to develop
and implement systems to assess immunization levels; to
conduct immunization audits of county health districts,
public health clinics and private physicians who
administer state-supplied vaccine; and to prevent the
transmission of hepatitis B in Nevada through the
Perinatal and Universal Hepatitis B Prevention Programs.
The Immunization Program also
supports a statewide immunization registry-
Nevada WebIZ. Nevada WebIZ was established to
track immunizations as patients move within the state,
consolidate scattered immunization records, identify
underserved populations and to improve the overall
immunization coverage level of all Nevada residents. |
