Social Investment Benefits Business, Accelerates Development
With USAID support, the Eurasia Partnership Foundation (EPF), in collaboration with the Azerbaijan Export & Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO), organized two Corporate Social Investment Program events featuring renowned Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) author and lecturer Wayne Visser.
On April 29, 2008, Visser delivered a presentation, “Corporate Social Responsibility – Strategic Benefits for Business” at an evening EPF/AZPROMO reception attended by more than 60 people including CEO's of leading national and international business companies, governmental officials, and senior representatives of various business associations and nonprofit organizations.
The following day, Visser led two workshop sessions targeting managers in the CSR, human resources, and public relations field, and to specialists responsible for implementing strategic corporate philanthropy programs within their companies. Another CSR consultant, Natasha Armley, led a session on corporate social investment programs (CSI) and best CSI practices in emerging markets.
By building greater awareness of the importance of corporate social responsibility and investment among Azerbaijan’s business leaders, EPF is working to encourage strategic investments by local businesses in the country’s social and economic development.
