Local Governance Training Program Started in the North Caucasus
On December 9, USAID-funded think tank, Institute for Urban Economics, completed the first of three USAID-funded training workshops for local government officials from the North Caucasus.
Seventy-six municipal officers from eight North Caucasus regions assembled in Pyatigorsk to review best practices for delivery of social services, including housing and health care. Participants discussed key aspects and implementation problems related to the introduction of new local economic development models and practices.
These training workshops launched a new two-year USAID-funded program for local economic development in the North Caucasus.
