Keeping the nation's air clean is a national priority. Power plant emissions endanger human health and have significant environmental consequences. Clean air policy, including the promotion of renewable energy and energy efficiency, can substantially reduce these negative impacts. Much can be done at the state level to promote clean air, and in the process provide local and state economic benefits.
