Mary McLeod Bethune Council House National Historic Site
For Teachers

The Mary McLeod Bethune Council House NHS provides a wide variety of materials and activities that can be reinforced in a classroom. The Education Specialist on-site has prepared lesson plans, traveling trunks and notebooks, and exhibits for public use.

The Bethune Council House also provides The Parks as Classrooms Program, where Senior Rangers from the park conduct off-site programs at schools, universities, etc., reinforcing Civil Rights material from the museum in your area.

Ask about our "Teacher Packets", they include vital information on Mrs. Bethune, and special reading material from the National Archives of Black Women's History.
