International Symposium on Distracted Driving
At the National Safety Council’s International Symposium on Distracted Driving (Oct. 14-15, 2008), scientists and other driving safety leaders presented findings to gain a
better understanding of the scope of distracted driving and determine possible solutions to the problem, including education, legislation, company policies and technology.

OSHA Guidelines for Employers to Reduce Motor Vehicle Crashes
Motor vehicle crashes are the number one cause of work-related injuries. In response to this, OSHA developed Guidelines for Employers to Reduce Motor Vehicle Crashes available to download from www.osha.gov. Children in the back seat of vehicles reduces fatalities
A new study shows that a dramatic shift in behavior by parents to place children in a back seat of vehicles, coupled with increased use of child safety seats and safety belts, resulted in an 18 percent reduction in overall fatalities among children ages 0-12. Front seat fatalities declined by 46 percent.
