                            REVISIONS TO THEIR
                          COST ALLOCATION MANUALS

                          PUBLIC COMMENT INVITED
               

       On May 4, 1998, the following local exchange carriers filed updates to their cost
allocation manuals (CAMs).  The CAM changes reflect E-911 revisions, as directed by the
Commission in Petitions for Forbearance from the Application of Section 272 of the
Communications Act of 1934, as amended, to Certain Activities, Memorandum Opinion and
Order, released February 6, 1998, CC Docket No. 96-149. There are also other revisions
clarifying differences between the CAM and the ARMIS reports and routine updates.

               BellSouth Telecommunications         AAD 98-58
               Nevada Bell Telephone Company        AAD 98-59
               Pacific Bell Telephone Company               AAD 98-60
               Southwestern Bell Telephone Company  AAD 98-61
               US West, Inc.                        AAD 98-62

       Parties may file comments on any of the above CAMS no later than June 15, 1998.
Replies should be filed by June 29, 1998.  Comments should reference the applicable AAD file
numbers listed above.  A copy of each pleading should be sent to Ed Dashkin, FCC Common
Carrier Bureau, 2000 L St. N.W., Room 812, Washington, D.C. 20554 and the International
Transcription Service (ITS), 1231 20th Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20036.  Copies are
