Virtual Science Community

Support provided through the Innovation Generation Grant by the Motorola Foundation

The Motorola Innovation Generation Grant supports AISES’ ability to expand its technological reach for K-12 students through webcasting live from the National American Indian Science and Engineering Fair (NAISEF), and the creation of this online Virtual Community (VSC).

The VSC showcases student research in science, technology, engineering and math to a broader global audience and creates additional student access to resources, mentors, and networking within the worldwide science community. The VSC enables students to use interactive tools to foster greater interaction, dialogue, and innovation in STEM research.

In 2009, our first year using the VSC, AISES invited all of its 2009 high school NAISEF participants and 25 additional NAISEF projects (from grades 5 through 8) to join the Virtual Science Community and create a virtual project board online.
