Description: | The NCI Center to Reduce Cancer Health Disparities is
pleased to host a series of lectures to explore the issues that
relate to health disparities and the unequal burden of disease
in American society. The inaugural lecture will feature Dr. Thomas C. Holt, Ph.D., James Westfall Thompson Professor of
American and African History at the University of Chicago.
Dr. Holt is author of the book The Problem of Race in the 21st
Century, published in December 2000 by Harvard University Press. His talk, titled "Reflections on The Problem of Race in the 21st Century After 9/11," will provide insight into the
impact of race and racism on the U.S. economy and consumer culture.
