Subject: Native SNOMED CT files available for download

Dear UMLS Users: Effective May 15, NLM distributes current SNOMED CT® (English and Spanish) in native format. Licensed UMLS users may download these files, as well as the SNOMED CT Technical Implementation Guide and SNOMED CT User's Guide, from the UMLS Knowledge Source Server. SNOMED CT will also continue to be available via the UMLS. The 2007AB UMLS will be released in June and will include the most recent versions of both English and Spanish SNOMED CT in Metathesaurus format. Information about SNOMED CT and transfer of its ownership to the new International Health Terminology Standards Development Organisation (IHTSDO) can be found at http://www.nlm.nih.gov/research/umls/Snomed/snomed_main.html.
