Dear UMLS Users: 

There will be two UMLS releases in 2008:  

 2008AA (April 1)

2008AB  (Nov.  1)   

The April release will include 2 new terminologies:   MEDCIN and the International Classification for Nursing Practice (ICNP).  Over twenty sources will be updated, including SNOMED CT (Jan. 31, 2008 release), CPT, CDT, HCPCS, ABC Codes, MeSH and RxNorm.  Files will be available for download from the NLM Website on the above dates.  DVDs will be distributed approximately 2 weeks later.

NLM welcomes your comments on the frequency and timing of UMLS releases to help us determine the most effective schedule for UMLS users given available resources.
