Need information on a publicly traded U.S. company? Librarians in the Wirtz Labor Law Library have access to a database
that can gather company information on behalf of DOL employees. Mergent,
Inc. ( http://www.FISonline.com ) has developed a web-based product that allows you to retrieve corporate
data. With a company name and/or ticker symbol, it can retrieve all
subsidiaries, officers, directors, balance sheets, financials, recent news
headlines, property, history, and even real time
SEC (EDGAR) documents.
If you do not have a particular company in mind, it is also
possible to search specific criteria and generate a report for a number of companies.
Another added feature of this database is that you can export search
results to an Excel file, making it easy to compare data on multiple
corporations.
