For Teachers

Catoctin Mountain Park offers a variety of education programs including programs linking park interpretive themes with local school curriculums. There are on site programs, programs for loan, on-line curriculum materials and lesson plans, and a variety self guided design your own field trip opportunities.

All program requests must be in writing. We are a small staff and need both the written commitment and the time to schedule staff.

Teachers may also be interested in visiting the Exploring the Real Thing website - a statewide guide to curriculum based programs of the northeast U.S.

Many groups use Catoctin Mountain Park for their field trips including Frederick County Public Schools. Their outdoor school tracks water quality and posts their results on their webpage. You may also wish to visit the Frederick County Outdoor School webpage.
