Statement of Labor Secretary Elaine L. Chao on BLS
Employment Projections Report
WASHINGTON—U.S. Secretary of Labor Elaine L. Chao issued the
following statement on the 2002-2012 Employment Projections Report, which was
released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics today:
“Nine of the top 10 fastest-growing occupations will be in the
healthcare or technology fields. This underscores the importance of the
President's initiatives to provide billions of dollars of education and
training to workers to access the education and skills necessary to fill these
jobs.”
