Access Management

Access management is the process of administering the connections between public highways and adjoining land. Transportation officials must balance the need for community and business development with the need for safe and efficient travel. The Office of Real Estate Services is committed to fostering the adoption of sound access management principles and policies. This commitment is in keeping with the Federal Highway Administration's Mission to improve the quality of the Nation's highway system and its intermodal connections.

For additional information on the FHWA commitment to Access Management, visit the FHWA Access Managementsite.
