Mission:
The mission of the Stored Product Insect Research Unit is to develop economically and ecologically sound methods for managing insect pests in stored grain, processed commodities, and storage and processing facilities. A multi-disciplinary team conducts fundamental and applied research on new biological and ecological approaches to pest management that will prevent quality losses due to insect infestation in grains and value-added products during storage and reduce the use of traditional pesticides on grain and grain products. Successful completion of the mission will provide a sustainable supply of high-quality cereal products.
