Transitioning to SmartPay 2 Wright Express

GSA Fleet and Wright Express (WEX) SmartPay2 Transition

Frequently Asked Questions

My Voyager card does not expire until 10/10, will my card still be replace?

Yes, all charge cards including fleet cards issued under the SmartPay Master contract will be replaced because the contract itself is expiring and renewing November 30, 2008.

My agency owned vehicles also have Voyager cards, who will be our new provider?

Each agency is responsible for choosing its own fleet card contractor. Your agency/organization point of contact (A/OPC) should be able to provide further information on agency owned vehicles.

When do I begin using my new GSA Fleet WEX card?

You will continue using your current Voyager card through November 29, 2008 at 11:59 p.m. Charges after that will go on the new WEX card. The Voyager cards will be electronically turned off and the new WEX Cards will be turned on.

How soon can I expect to see the WEX cards?

The new WEX cards will be sent to agencies in October along with instructions on how to use the Driver ID numbers, card holders and driver guides containing general use information.

Will the WEX card be accepted at my favorite fueling stations?

It is always a good idea to check prior to fueling but the WEX card is accepted at 180,000 retail fueling sites. A list of accepting branded locations will be provided with each of your credit cards in the Driver Guide or you can go to http://www.wrightexpress.com/Wex/wex-universal-locations.cfm to find an accepting location.

Will the WEX card be accepted at my favorite maintenance and body locations?

Yes, and where WEX is not accepted at the point of sale device vendors will be have a toll free number provided on the back of the card to call to receive a Mastercard® number.

How do I increase the dollar limit on my card?

Dollar limits on the new cards will be set based upon the tank capacity of the vehicle. Even so the pumps have dollar limits built into their software and no card provider will be able to override those limits set by the merchants. As fuel prices rise, fleet card providers work with merchants to determine the pump shutoff limits that make the most economical sense but ultimately it is still the merchant who determines that limit.

I am a federal agency providing fuel or maintenance to GSA Fleet leased vehicles, how will I get paid under the new system?

"Cross Service" vendors as they are called will be contacted as the rollout draws closer to ensure that you have accurate instructions for submitting charges.
