Projects Projects
ITD knows that public involvement is the keystone to building and maintaining a successful transportation system. To achieve that success means spending as much time listening and learning as teaching and telling. ITD committed to creating for all Idahoans, a transportation system that meets the needs of the 21st century. Here you'll find contacts for getting involved in transportation decision-making processes and information about transportation projects in planning, design, and construction phases throughout Idaho.
Currently, the following six corridors are financed through GARVEE bonds. U.S. 95, Garwood to Sagle CorridorU.S. 95, Worley to Setters Corridor I-84, Caldwell to Meridian Corridor I-84, Orchard to Isaacs Canyon Corridor Idaho 16, I-84 to South Emmett Corridor U.S. 30, McCammon to Soda Springs Corridor Highways, aviation, rail and public transportation needs are all taken into consideration when planning Idaho's transportation future. Traffic patterns and congestion, land-use issues, safety and preservation of freight rail lines are all important. The Transportation Board makes decisions regarding the direction of projects and policies based on input from professional staff, the public and from 11 advisory boards and committees. Context Sensitive Solutions (CSS) is the art of creating public works projects that meet the needs of the users, the neighboring communities, and the environment.
