TMIP recently completed a Technical Synthesis of the contributions and responses regarding feedback loops for travel demand models. Approaches noted by contributors as well as potential considerations and criteria for measuring convergence are also reviewed.

Travel Modeling Workshop Webinar Series Wraps Up

The journey began back on October 16, 2008 and exactly nine months later, on July 16, the ninth and final installment of the Travel Modeling Workshop webinars was held. TMIP sincerely thanks Mr. Thomas Rossi and Mr. Yasasvi Popuri from Cambridge Systematics for their efforts in putting on these well-received workshops. Also thanks to Mr. Kermit Wies, CMAP, for his presentation at the last session. And finally thanks to all of you that participated, asked questions, and gave us feedback on how to improve the experience.

Transportation Planning Applications Conference Sessions

The presentations, including the visuals and audio were captured during 12th Transportation Planning Applications Conference in Houston, Texas. They have been converted to eSessions and are posted on the Teach America web site.

TMIP Peer Review Program Seeks Volunteers

The Travel Model Improvement Program (TMIP) was created to advance the state of the practice of travel modeling and planning analysis. To that end, TMIP provides a variety of services to academics and professionals in the fields of analysis, modeling and simulation. One of the services is the Peer Review Program. Planning agencies can use peer reviews to ensure that technical processes they are applying or developing meet the agency’s needs and/or the standards of professional practice.

Travel Model Mentoring Program

TMIP is pleased to announce a new phase in the Travel Model Mentoring Program. The Virtual Mentoring and Technical Support Center (VMTSC) represents an effort by TMIP to expand the reach of the Mentoring Program by offering weekly one-hour online virtual office sessions via the TMIP web conferencing system.
