Dale V. Campbell, M.A.
Executive Director
Sacramento Urban Indian Health Project, Inc.
Mr. Campbell was recently appointed Executive Director of the Sacramento Urban Indian Health Project, Inc. in Sacramento, California after spending two years with the California Rural Indian Health Board, Inc. as the Program Manager of the Social Wellness Program, serving tribes, reservations, rancherias, and clinics throughout California. Mr. Campbell served as the Project Director of the California Drug Free Communities Grant: Gathering of Native Americans Project, a project funded by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Juvenile Justice and remains a consultant to the DOJ on Native American issues.
Mr. Campbell assisted in developing Native American substance abuse treatment programs in Tucson, Arizona, Albuquerque, New Mexico and Pine Ridge, South Dakota in the late 1990's and consulted frequently with the U.S. Department of Justice and its programs including the Bureau of Prisons, U.S. Probation and Parole, and other programs interested in care for Native Americans.
In his third decade of service to Native Americans, Mr. Campbell has served in Behavioral Health positions at the Tohono O'Odham Nation, Colorado River Tribes, the Pueblo of Isleta, and the Southeast Alaska Regional Health Corporation. Much of his time has been spent in employee assistance and issues surrounding worksite health promotion and care.
He was recognized by the White House in 1992 for his development of the "Traditions" Treatment Program, still in use at various tribal programs and by the Governor of Arizona in 1996 for significant contribution to the health and welfare of youth in that state. The National Indian Health Board recognized Mr. Campbell in 1994 for "significant contributions and care for American Indian/Alaskan Natives."
Mr. Campbell lives with his wife Brenda in Elk Grove, California and frequently speaks to diverse groups on management, learning organizations, employee assistance and workplace wellness.
