Federal agencies can use GSA Schedules to support or fulfill key energy and environmental requirements outlined in the Recovery Act -- specifics of which are outlined below. GSA offers the following Schedules and contract solutions to help your agency meet its energy conservation and environmental goals.
Metering and Advanced Metering
By October 10, 2012, all federal buildings with the exception of excluded buildings shall be metered for energy efficiency and electricity cost reduction.
Natural gas and steam metering should be in place by October 1, 2016.
Agencies are encouraged to use advanced metering devices that measure, at least, hourly and provide data daily.
Comprehensive Energy and Water Evaluations
25 percent of covered facilities must be evaluated annually.
Each facility is evaluated every four years.
Commissioning, Recommissioning and Retrocommissioning
Measures must be identified and assessed.
Implementation of energy and water conservation measures
No later than two years after evaluation, energy managers can implement cost effective projects and/or bundle individual measures into combined projects.
