Lake Umbagog National Wildlife Refuge (New Hampshire/Maine) recently joined forces with the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department to offer a fun-filled, educational, free fishing day at the refuge. The "Take Me Fishing" event, which is part of a Servicewide program, was combined with the state's ?Let's Go Fishing? curriculum.

Participants spent the morning in an interactive classroom environment where they learned about fish, fish hooks, rods, reels and much more. The afternoon was spent fishing on Lake Umbagog, tying flies and learning to fly cast.

Everyone who attended the program enjoyed the day, even those who endured a brief downpour while returning from fishing.
