Phragmites Mapping Project Completed on the Rappahannock River
Northeast Region, October 30, 2007
Print Friendly Version
Through a cooperative agreement between the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, all known populations of common reed, also known as Phragmites, have been mapped and entered into a geographic information system.  The information has been placed on the web, so landowners and land managers can view invasive stands of this plant and take action to control them.
