10 Region, October 14, 2006
Print Friendly Version

One hundred cub scouts and their families attended the Mapleleaf District Cub Scout Jamboree at Missisquoi National Wildlife Refuge on Oct. 14, 2006.  Eileen Nuñez, park ranger, welcomed the group and presented the refuge DVD program "Missisquoi - A Haven For Wildlife" in the multipurpose room before the group split into smaller groups for activities.  Refuge staff and volunteers conducted Webelos Naturalist programs about birds, migration, flyways, food chains, human impacts, and the importance of wetlands, as well as nature walks for those scouts who needed to earn a naturalist badge.  Den leaders conducted Project Wild activities for the younger scouts.
