Course Structure
A course can be completed in multiple sessions. Once you have registered for a course with your faasafety.gov account, the system will remember where you are in each course and also allow you to complete a course in multiple visits to this site. When you return to the system and want to continue with your course, simply log in and click on "My Courses" to see a list of your in-progress courses and easily resume your studies. You may also resume a course by browsing for it in the Aviation Learning Center course listings.

  • Courses are broken into chapters that are navigated by clicking the "next chapter" link at the bottom of the chapter page.
  • All courses have an introduction and review section.
  • A table of contents appears in the introduction section.
  • You may preview chapters by clicking the numbered links at the top of each chapter.
  • Links in the system will usually link out to another browser so you may need to deactivate pop-up blocking software while taking the course.

Exam Structure
  • There is no time limit on this exam. You may need to log in again if your browser is idle for more than an hour.
  • You should complete the entire exam in one session. You may log out at any time, but if the exam is not complete you will need to retake it when you log into the course again.
  • You may review course material as you take the test. Many questions have references available.
  • When complete, press the "Grade Exam" button at the bottom.
  • If you get wrong answers you will be brought back to the exam with the incorrect answers marked.

Course History
The system will also keep a history of your completed courses. They can be located in the "My Courses" section accessible in the left side navigation once you are logged in. Here you may review course content and your course completion certificate.
