Medicare Part D: prescription drug information

The Oregon Prescription Drug Program (OPDP) with FREE enrollment is a cost-saving program that ALL Oregonians can join. Save up to 60% on prescriptions. There is no paperwork required and no age or income limit.

HealthyOregon has links to many programs through which seniors, people with disabilities, and low-income persons can get prescription drugs at reduced cost. DHS, the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA), and other groups have created one Web site for Oregonians who need help getting free or low-cost prescription drugs.

Certification
Many of the programs that participate in HealthyOregon require certification that the individual does not have prescription drug coverage. The DHS Client Services Unit (CSU) can provide these certifications. We will mail a certification only to a current or former client or authorized representative listed on the case, at the address shown on the case. The client can then attach this certification to an application for free or reduced-cost drugs.

Request certification by fax (503) 945-6898; by phone (1-800) 273-0557; or by mail: DHS OMAP, Attention: CSU, 500 Summer Street E-35, Salem, OR 97301-1077.

Senior Prescription Drug Assistance Program: This program charges participants a non-refundable $50 fee each year.  SPDAP began before Medicare Part D went into effect. Since then, the Legislature also approved the new FREE Oregon Prescription Drug Program.
