ASSISTANT ATTORNEY GENERAL FOR CIVIL RIGHTS R. ALEXANDER ACOSTA TO SPEAK AT LIMITED ENGLISH PROFICIENCY CONFERENCE
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Justice Department will host a conference, TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 21, 2004, 9:00 A.M. EDT, on providing services for limited English proficient (LEP) individuals. The Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Rights Division, R. Alexander Acosta, will speak at the conference and will present materials showcasing innovative strategies to increase LEP access, including a new federal inter-agency video regarding civil rights and language access, an inter-agency “Know Your Rights” brochure, and a document describing tips and tools in providing LEP individuals language access.
