WASHINTON, DC - The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) recently launched fedWARE, an on-line publication for the Federal information technology community. FedWARE is published by GSA's Federal Technology Service (FTS).

Developed as a new feature and complement to the FTS Web Site - at http://www.fts.gsa.gov/fedware - fedWARE is a monthly Internet publication for Federal policy-makers, managers, and agency employees with the latest information on how information technology is transforming the Federal government.

Written to appeal to a wide audience, each issue of fedWARE will have a broad range of technical and non-technical topics in articles and interviews. Technology trends and their impacts will be examined. There will also be human-interest stories and articles written from an executive perspective. Creative applications of technology will be featured, as will IT contracting solutions available through FTS.

The premier issue of FTS fedWARE addresses how information technology is helping Government to get "smarter" and features an interview with Izzy Feldman on "An IT Pioneer's View of Government's Use of Technology." Other articles in the issue cover topics such as Data Center Outsourcing and video conferencing technology.
