Robinson Tapped to Lead GSA's Office of Congressional Affairs

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Stephen A. Perry, administrator of the U.S. General Services Administration today administered the oath of office to Clint Robinson as GSA's Associate Administrator of Congressional and Intergovernmental Affairs during a special morning ceremony. His new position is effective today.

"Clint will be a tremendous asset to GSA's leadership team," said Administrator Perry. "His extensive expertise in the legislative field makes him the ideal choice to direct our congressional affairs efforts as we work on priority projects such as property management reform and the many legislative tasks related to implementing President Bush's Management Agenda."

Mr. Robinson is the former director of legislative affairs with Covad Communications, a national communications company. He replaces Shawn McBurney, recently named as Senior Advisor, Office of the Administrator. Mr. Robinson also served as legislative director to U.S. Representative John Linder where he had responsibility for the development and implementation of legislative initiatives and strategies.

"I look forward to working with Congress and other federal agencies toward the ultimate goal of attaining the best value for our customers and taxpayers."

As the Associate Administrator of Congressional and Intergovernmental Affairs working in GSA's Central Office, Mr. Robinson will monitor important legislation affecting GSA's functions and areas of responsibility of interest. He will also advise the Administrator and Deputy Administrator on policy actions and act as congressional liaison for GSA on legislative matters, investigations, and inquiries.

Mr. Robinson, a native of Carrollton, Ga., earned an undergraduate degree in politics from Washington and Lee University in 1990. He received a master's degree in business administration from Johns Hopkins University in 2001. Mr. Robinson and his wife, Rachel, currently reside in Alexandria, Va., with their two sons.
