More Resources President Bush Presents National Medals of Science & Technology

U.S. Secretary of Education Margaret Spellings today issued the following statement on President Bush's presentation of the National Medals of Science and Technology:

"I congratulate the 2004 National Medal of Science and National Medal of Technology Laureates. Their acclaim is richly deserved. These dedicated pioneers, discoverers and inventors are contributing greatly to America's standing as a global innovation and education leader. The schools and teachers that nurtured their passions deserve our praise as well. As we work to give our students the skills they need to succeed in a competitive world, we must first make them aware of the rich rewards of mastering mathematics, science and technology. These recipients have shown them that they can be winners in every sense of the word."
