04/02/2009 - Notice to the Bar - Please be advised that the Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit has amended Local Rule 46 with respect to attorney admissions to this Court, and it has adopted Interim Local Rule 12.1 with respect to the filing of an acknowledgment and notice of appearance in all cases. As of April 15, 2009, requirements for renewing attorney admissions will take effect, and attorneys seeking admission must use the Court's revised admission application. To view the official Notice to the Bar that explains the new admissions and acknowledgment and notice of appearance requirements in more detail, click here. To view the order amending Local Rule 46 and adopting Interim Local Rule 12.1, click here. Any attorneys admitted since January 1, 1985 can find their admission date by clicking on the Attorney Admissions tab to the left. For any questions related to admissions prior to 1985 or any other admissions issues, please call 212-857-8603 or e-mail an inquiry, beginning April 15, 2009, to admissions@ca2.uscourts.gov.
 
01/14/2009 - Notice to the Criminal Law Bar - Please be advised that the Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit has implemented a new procedure for setting the filing dates for briefs in criminal appeals. Click here for a copy of the notice setting forth the procedure.
 
01/09/2009 - Notice to the Bar - Please be advised that the Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit has amended Interim Local Rule 25 with respect to Filing and Service and adopted Interim Local Rule 25.2 with respect to an Appendix on CD-ROM. Click here for a copy of the order amending the Local Rules of the Second Circuit.
 
12/18/2008 - Notice to the Bar -Second Circuit CJA panel members who have encountered difficulty preparing their vouchers where an assigned case has spanned several different compensation rate periods, are invited to use the new “Attorney Rate Breakdown Sheet” which can be found in the CJA forms section of this website. Separate worksheets should be used for each rate and then the totals for each rate are entered on the “Attorney Rate Breakdown Sheet”. Only the total from all rates on the “Attorney Rate Breakdown Sheet” should be entered on the voucher.
