AMENDMENT OF FEBRUARY 8, 1984
Amendment to Feb 10. 1983 D/A -PHS Commissioned Officers Travel
(No
references.) Allows transportation of deceased
dependents of active duty PHS commissioned officers
within and outside the U.S.; authorized travel
for escorts for deceased active duty officers;
and authorizes payment for travel.
a) The following authorities have been delegated to the Area
Directors and
the Service Unit Directors without authority to redelegate:
i) Authorize use of apartment, house, mobile home, travel trailer, or
recreational vehicle as quarters while on temporary duty. ii) Authorize use of Aero Club aircraft incidental
to temporary
duty travel.
iii) Authorize reimbursement for travel expenses incurred in and around
duty station while conducting official business.
iv) Determine the local commuting area of a station, where such determination
has not already been made by higher authority.
v) Authorize travel of attendants or escorts for officers
and dependents of active duty officers and authorize payment of
expenses for such travel.
vi) Authorize transportation at Government expense of remains of deceased
officers.
vii) Authorize transportation of remains of deceased dependents of officers
on duty (other than active duty for training) both within and outside the
United States.
b) All other authorities included in the delegation to the Area Directors
may be delegated to no lower than one organizational level below
the Office of the Area Director. Service Unit Directors may delegate the
authorities to no lower than one organizational level below the Office of the SUD. |
