Welcome to the Southern District of New York, an Office with a tradition as proud as its history is deep. In 1789, George Washington appointed Richard Harison as United States Attorney here, making him the country's first. Much has changed since then, but our commitment to excellence in public service has not. I am honored to be part of an Office that houses a remarkable group of federal employees, all dedicated to doing good for this community and our country.
