1. How do I get access to MORRIS data?

A UserID and password is required. See password rules and sign-up procedures.

2. How do I get assistance or training for MORRIS?

There is link to the Morris User Guide on the left panel of the MORRIS homepage. Additionally, there is a quick reference guide that provides the basic procedures for many functions on the site.

You can also call the MORRIS Hotline at 1-877-667-7478, or send an email to morris.fts@gsa.gov.

If you have a need for group training at your location, send your requests to RENEE.CANNON@GSA.GOV.

3. What security is used for the MORRIS Website?

As noted in question 1, UserIDs (profiles) and passwords are required. The user profile establishes a partition of Agency Bureau Codes, Agency Hierarchy Codes and reports that can be accessed.

The password policy includes rules for password creation, and a mandatory 90 day time interval for password changes. These rules are in compliance with CIO Instructional letter (IL) 99-01, GSA Information Technology (IT) Security Policy, and GSA CIO IT Security Action Plan (ITSSAP).

MORRIS also uses 128 bit encryption for transmission in conjunction with Verisign Certificate Secure Socket Layer (SSL) - Version 3. The Verisign Certificate is renewed annually. When using either NETSCAPE or Internet Explorer, information for the Website Certification can be viewed by selecting the PADLOCK symbol on the bottom control bar.

4. How can I adjust the size of my screen to improve the display?

We have added a new feature to the MORRIS website that allows you to resize the left panel of link information. There are two ways to do this:

  1. Click on the "shrink this panel" link. This link toggles between "shrink" and "expand."
  2. Place the cursor over the line between the two panels until you see the cross. Click and drag to resize the panel.

Once you have selected a report, you can adjust the display size in Adobe Acrobat by choosing a percentage setting from the bottom left of the control bar.

5. When is MORRIS available? (What hours?)

MORRIS is available at all hours except those set aside for scheduled maintenance. Scheduled maintenance times are from Sunday, 1 AM Eastern time to 7 AM Eastern time and Sunday, 5 PM Eastern time to Monday, 6 AM Eastern time.

6. What reports can I access through MORRIS? Does MORRIS provide call detail records?

MORRIS provides access to your Monthly Statement(s) of Account (MSOA), as well as summary level reports for voice services and circuit level detail reports for data services. You can link to a complete list of available reports here, or on the left panel of the MORRIS homepage. MORRIS does not provide call detail records, which are available through the vendor.

7. How do the amounts on the MSOA match up to the data I get from the vendor?

See processing rules

8. Can I get FTS billing information without going through the MORRIS website?

Some users continue to receive FTS2000, Wireless and ID3 MSOAs and reports in hardcopy format via regular mail. However, because of the increased number of hierarchy codes for which users can receive billing information on FTS2001, MSOAs and reports for FTS2001 can be accessed only through the MORRIS website.

9. Is there a reference for GSA points of contact?

There are 2 references for GSA points of contact on the MORRIS website: the GSA Customer Service Representatives and the Billing Customer Service Representatives lists. You can also access these lists through links on the left panel of the MORRIS homepage.

10. How do I change my hierarchies behind the GSA system?

Hierarchy changes are made through the FTS Maintenance Screen or by calling Fern Childs on 703-306-6515.

11. How do you calculate allocations for non-ANI GSA systems?

We count the number of stations at a GSA system for each 28 digit hierarchy, then we divide that by the total number of stations for that network at that SDP to get the percentage.

12. What does the 14 digit SDP mean?

13. How are the telephone numbers and hierarchies sent to the vendor for GSA systems?

As new telephone numbers are ordered through local services, the agency's hierarchy code is assigned and sent to the vendor each day.

14. How do I get my user ID to login into TOPS to maintain my hierarchies?

Call the TOPS Help Desk at 970-295-5234 to get your ID to login into TOPS. Gary Koch will provide the customer with privileges.
