Spring 2005 Awardee Meeting and Technical Conference
From March 30th - April 1st, the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS)
was proud to sponsor the Spring WETP Awardee meeting and Minimum Criteria Technical Conference in
Manhattan Beach, California. A meeting of NIEHS awardees took place from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm on
Wednesday, March 30th. The technical conference started that afternoon with a keynote presentation
and plenary panel, continued with breakout sessions on Thursday, the 31st, and concluded before
noon on Friday, April 1st. Over 100 experts participated in this major effort to revise a
national guidance document for training hazardous waste workers and emergency responders.
John Moran and Donald Elisburg, consultants to the National Clearinghouse, developed the draft
guidance document.
