U.S. Secretary of Education Rod Paige today issued the following statement on the death of Rep. Patsy T. Mink (D-HI):

"On behalf of the employees of the U.S. Department of Education, I offer our sincere condolences to Rep. Mink's family, friends, colleagues and constituents. Rep. Mink served her state and her country with dignity and honor more than two decades. She was a passionate advocate for our children and for making sure not one child is left behind. She will be missed."
