The Ralph H. Metcalfe Federal Building, winner of a 2007 Energy Star Award for energy efficiency and the 2008 BOMA TOBY Award, is located in downtown Chicago on the southeast corner of Clark and Jackson. The 28-story building features a state of the art conference facility and a food court. Built in 1991, the building is constructed of steel framing in the style of Mies van der Rohe. Major tenants include HUD and EPA. Based on the most recent (2008) GSA/Gallup Customer Satisfaction Survey, 86% of the tenants are "very satisfied" with building space and services (score of four or above on a five-point scale).

Public Hours
The building is open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday (except federal holidays). All visitors must pass through security screening to enter the building. Main entrances to the building are located on the north (Jackson Boulevard side) and the west (Clark Street side). Entrance for the disabled is through automatic sliding doors on Jackson Boulevard.

Conference Center Reservations
The building's Morrison Conference Center offers seven conference rooms to serve the business needs of federal agencies. The facility is fully equipped with sound, projection, video, and satellite capability and can accommodate up to 485 people. For reservations or more information, contact the conference center at (312) 886-7700.
